Why I Shoot

Anyone can take a picture, but not everyone can capture the right mood or moment. I am most at home behind a camera, and I feel connected to the world through my lens.

I fell in love with photography when I realized I could tell stories through images. I shoot because of an insatiable need to share these narratives with the world - and editorial photography allows me to do that, every single day.

I was feeling sad and hopeless, trapped in a cycle of negative thoughts. I didn’t want to get out of bed, let alone face the world. I felt like nothing mattered, and nothing could make me happy.

One night, I decided to grab my camera and go for a walk. I didn’t have a plan or a destination, I just wanted to get some fresh air and clear my mind. As I walked, I noticed the stars shining brightly in the sky. They looked so beautiful and peaceful, like they were telling me a story. I felt a spark of curiosity and wonder, something I hadn’t felt in a long time.

I decided to take a picture of the stars. I set up my tripod, adjusted the settings, and pressed the shutter. I waited for a few seconds, then looked at the screen. I was amazed by what I saw. The stars looked even more stunning in the photo, like they were glowing with magic. I felt a smile forming on my face, a genuine smile that came from within.

I realized that photography had given me a gift. It had given me a reason to get out of bed, a reason to explore the world, a reason to appreciate the beauty around me. It had given me a way to express myself, a way to communicate what I was feeling, a way to connect with something bigger than myself. It had given me hope, and hope is what I needed the most.
